Makeup tips for Teens! Also a Cherry Culture 20% off code

I remember wanting to wear makeup as a teen but was clueless as to what I should use or how. As a teen it is very important to keep your makeup look simple and natural. Wearing too much makeup will not flatter you.

Most teens have flawless skin and an even skin tone, therefore you will not need any foundation. Instead you can try a bronzer very lightly just to add a little color and make your skin glow. If you have any marks or flaws on your skin and want to cover them up, try a mineral foundation.  For acne, just use a concealer on the problem areas.

For your eye makeup use light colors such as pink, peach and champagne. Try these colors in a shimmery finish. If you want you can add eyeliner, but keep the line very thin.   After, just curl your eyelashes and apply a layer of mascara to add length and volume.  For your lips use a natural colored lip gloss

Follow up review of Eyelashes from Kkcenterhk.com

A few days ago I received eyelashes from kkcenterhk.com and did a post in them, check it out here http://wearethewicked.blogspot.com/2011/06/eyelashes-from-kkcenterhkcom.html. However, I said I would try them before doing a review on them.

I really liked the eyelashes after trying them. I was very surprised because the quality of the eyelashes is great, yet the price is very affordable. The lashes are very easy to apply because they bend easily unlike other eyelashes. I have tried other low priced eyelashes and have not have a good experience because they wouldn't bend , so both ends would keep coming off. However, with these lashes I did not have that problem.
False eyelashes may have to be trimmed in the end if the eyelash strip is longer than your eye. Therefore, before applying any glue on them you should always check if they have to be trimmed. If you have an extra piece then carefully cut that piece off. After you have the right fit, apply the glue and you are ready to apply them.
My eyes are pretty long so I never have to trim the eyelashes. So in the pictures below I have the entire strip on.

Without false eyelashes (only mascara)
Sorry the flash hurt my eye.

With  False Eyelashes

I love these lashes because they make my lashes look fuller instead of making them look completely fake. If you have shorter lashes than of course they will look more dramatic on you, but for me they added fullness and a little bit of length at the end. That is why I like them because I do not like when eyelashes look too dramatic. I will definitely be ordering from http://kkcenterhk.com/, they are worth it!

Nubar 2010!

About a week ago I was stuck in the most ridiculous nail polish rut. I was so uninspired it was crazy, I really have no words. So, in the midst of this rut I bought the awesome Nubar 2010!

So awesome, it goes from red to orange to yellow to green to blue. It's a c lear base with these flecks or multi-chrome stuff. I love it. Definitely got me out of my rut, it's super fun to look at. Even my dad liked it, said it would be a good color for a car lol Anyway, here I have two coats of Sinful Colors Black on Black then one coat of Nubar 2010 and Seche on top. Oh, you seriously need to enlarge all of these picture to see the awesomeness.

Here is a view of the yellow/ green.

And the yellow/green/blue.

I bought this on Ebay for $7.70 plus free shipping and it came in like 3 days. Definitely worth it, definitely awesome.

Eyelashes from KKcenterhk.com

Today I received eyelashes from http://kkcenterhk.com/ to review. This site is great for buying false eyelashes, wigs, makeup, brushes and many other products for a good price. They have many different types of lashes and the price is very cheap.

When I first opened my package I was pretty impressed with the packaging, the eyelashes come in a cute black box.  Which is great to keep them in so they won't get messed up.  The back of the box has instructions and also has a diagram , which is very helpful if you're not sure on how to apply them.

I got style A166 which bring 1 pairs of eyelashes for only $12.50. When I took out one of the eyelashes I was impressed on how flexible they are. They are not stiff at all and can easily be shaped, unlike many lashes I have used before.

I will be trying the lashes a few times and will post a review about them. However, I really like them so far and am exited to try them. I definitely encourage you guys to visit the website and see the huge range of eyelashes they have for great prices.

These are the lashes I got:

Art Club Nail Polish!

I recently realized to do details, I really need a detail brush. I've been hesitant to buy one because I knew I'd  end up buying every color even if I didn't need it. So, I finally got over it and bought one.

This is what the bush looks like, its thin, obviously for details and to my surprise it was much longer than I expected. It's great for lines and things, I'm not sure how good it will be for everything else because the length of the brush might make it a little more difficult to handle. This is in silver, I got it in white.

This is the first thing I did after I brought it home. I already had on two coats of OPI Skull and Glossbones so then I did a diagonal stroke of Sinful Colors Black on Black, just one coat of that. And then I did the white stripe with the Art Club in white. It's definitely easy to handle when doing lines.

This second experiment was inspired by the movie Despicable Me lol If you saw it, think of the villain, Vector. He wore an orange track suit with white stripes down the side and in his bathroom, the toilet was white and had an orange V. So on three of my nails I did four coats of Sinful Colors Could 9 and on my ring finger I did two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. Then over the orange I did a white stripe with the Art Club to symbolize Vector's track suit and over the white I did a V in Cloud 9, which would have probably worked out better if I had used a detail brush. Anyway, I think I translated the theme pretty well. I also wanted to try and do minions, but for that I'll definitely need more Art Club polishes or to invest in a professional detail brush, which I'm considering.

If you want to see some really cool detail work, check this out

Makeup Ideas for a hot summer day!

Let's keep the makeup from melting!

Do not forget the primer, this will really help. Apply face primer after you have moisturized and before concealer and foundation.

During hot summer days using a silicone-based foundation. This is recommended for those that want to wear a full face of foundation. These two foundations are silicone based:
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
Cover Girl Tru Blend Liquid Foundation

If you are going to use liquid foundation try using a latex sponge instead of a brush. I actually use a latex sponge everyday to apply my foundation because it gives me more coverage with less product. It also blends very nicely and your skin absorbs it better, giving a more natural look. But be careful which sponge you use because if use the wrong sponge they will just streak.
I love and recommend these sponges:
MUD Professional Make-up Sponge

Use liquid liner because it will last longer and will not smudge. My favorite is MAC's liquid liner.

Waterproof mascara will also help especially of you will be around a beach or pool.

Set your makeup with a large powder brush and a translucent loose powder. This is a colorless powder instead of layering more color.

Orly Happy Go Lucky Collection: Flirty and Frisky!

A while ago I did a post about the press release for the Orly Happy Go Lucky collection, and today I have two swatches! So, here we go!

Flirty, two coats. This is the only shimmer in the collection, the rest are cremes. You will be able to see the shimmer better if you click on the picture and enlarge it ( I apologize for the sloppiness, my hand was crazy shaking and there was no sunlight. Figures it goes away the second I painted my nails). Anyway, the coverage on this was awesome, one coat is opaque, but a little light and I like another coat just to be on the safe side. Also the formula was super thick on this one. I don't know if it was because of the shimmer, but that is what I'm assuming. This is as close to the actual color as I could get, it's a little more on the pink side versus the fuschia type color that it looks like on my pointer finger, the rest are pretty accurate (think the pinky color).

Frisky, two coats. On the press release this is described as a teal creme, here is obviously looks sky blue, but my camera is lying to you. It definitely has more green in it, closer to a teal. Though, it is much lighter than real teal, so I'm going to say its more of an aqua or turquoise, definitely. The formula on this one is pretty much a perfect consistency and fantastic coverage. It is completely opaque with one coat, it's awesome. I did two coats just to smooth it out because of my darn shaky hand.

So, I'm really in love with the formula on these, Orly has perfected the opaque creme and I love it. One coat and you're done. It really doesn't get better than that. I do suggest a top coat and base coat as I always do, just to protect your nails and the manicure in general.

Overall, these two colors are great and perfect for the summer and back to school. I'm assuming the other two in the collection, Fresh and Frolic are also going to be great because they are cremes like Frisky. So, the same review should apply in theory. Brights are totally in for the summer and will probably stick around in the fall, which would be great instead of drab, sad colors. So, I definitely suggest this collection if you're looking for brights this season. It comes out in July and I cannot wait to see Fresh and Frolic in person!

Orly Bubbly Bombshell

First and foremost I want to say HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!! Now, on to the polish! This is the last of the Orly's and it is the only one from the Pinup collection.

Bubbly Bomshell, three coats. On the press release this looked much more purple, but it is very magenta. It is a glitter so it needed three coats to be completely opaque. Its really nice and has a foil like effect from varying sizes of glitter, it's almost metallic-y. Very interesting. The formula was great, nice consistency and good coverage, the glitter isn't very sparse, but it does need more than one coat,

This is an idea I had ever since I saw the press release for the Pinup collection. What goes better with pinups than fishnets?!! Absolutely nothing! So this my take on a pinup mani (it's a little sloppy, I apologize). Its kind of a play on naughty and nice, very pinup like and I liked the contrast between regular black and the super sparkly Bubbly Bombshell. For the fishnet I used my trusty Konad, the M57 plate and the Konad black stamping polish. Then I free handed the tips with Nicole by OPI Razzle Dazzler, which was a little difficult to use since it was almost empty, so I got a new black hooray!! And finally Seche to smooth everything out. I think it turned out pretty well, if my black polish wasn't empty the tips would have come out better, but what can you do?

Dante Brush Cleaner

I have done post on how to wash your brushes with shampoo and water, however when you are in a rush you need a quick way to clean them. When you wash them with soap and water then take a while to dry especially bigger brushes. And trust me you do not want to use a wet brush. If you do not have a big brush collection then you may need the same brush to use with another color. Therefore, you will need a brush cleaner, to clean your brushes quickly.
I use Dante Brush Cleaner, this cleaner is amazing! This gets rid of any product on your brush and dries right away. You may get a small container and pour a bit of the cleaner in and then dip your brushes. But if you just want to clean one brush you may spray a bit of the cleanser on it. You will see the product come right off since the formula is clear. After cleaning it just wipe it with a tissue and wait a few seconds for it to dry.
This brush cleaner is my favorite because it really cleans the brushes and does not damage them. It is also disinfects the brushes and gets rid of any bacteria they may have. If does not have any fragrance and does not irate the skin at all. Once your brush dries you can use it right away.
When I searched for it online today , I only found one website that sells it. I had no idea it was that hard to find because I always buy it from the make-up school I went to. I will try to get more information as to where you can buy it.

OPI Miss Universe Collection

If you are a fan of OPI On facebook, you have probably already heard about this, but if you haven't here is the OPI Miss Universe Collection!

Left to right (as desribed in the press release):
Swimsuit...Nailed It! -An itsy bitsy teenie weenie vibrant shiny-blue bikini
Crown Me AlreadyA sassy silver sparkle that knows what it’s worth
Congeniality Is My Middle Nameberry-wine shimmer is what I do best!
It's MY YearIt’s about time for this champagne-rose to shine!

And this is the display

So, the names and display definitely fit the theme (I like the display a lot). I think it's an interesting theme, but I'm not really sure how I feel about it yet. The colors don't seem too original and I don't know any pageant girls that would wear blue nail polish. I think I'd really have to see this collection in person, press release pictures usually differ from the actual colors. From the two pictures here, you can see that they do look different in the display. It's MY Year definitely reminds me somewhat of MAC Mean and Green, with a little less green. This collection comes out in August, so we will have to wait until then and judge them in person.

Gold eye makeup look!

Orly Royal Velvet and Gilded Coral

So here they are! The iridescent shades I've been promising.

Royal Velvet, three coats. Absolutely beautiful! Love it. It's blue and purple and shimmery and just awesome in the sun light. So I definitely suggest three coats for this one, the first will be pretty sheer and it will be opaque with two, but the color is just so much richer with three. Also, a top coat is very necessary. Last time I had this on, I noticed that without a atop coat it kind of dulled after a few days.

Gilded Coral, three coats. I really love this one too! Its a fleshy, peachy color with a slight pink tone to it.  It's super iridescent and has a pearl-ish finish. It's kind of hard to explain. I'm usually not a fan of these light colors, but this one is definitely special. Again, I suggest three coats and a top coat for the same reasons.

The formula on these is a little thinner than on the creme shades, but that is just because of the finish and such. Other than that the formula is great, smooth and covers very well. I have my final Orly post for next time, and I'm kind of excited for you all to see it. I also want to remind everyone to follow us on here, like us on facebook and even follow us on twitter!
